Senior Hydrogeologist/Groundwater Modeller
Kanglin is a Senior Hydrogeologist and Groundwater Modeller with over 18 years experience in the field of hydrogeology and geophysics. He has broad experience in hydrogeology and has expert expertise in numerical modeling, including code development and using commercial software packages in pit dewatering design, water resource evaluation, and assessment of environmental impacts from groundwater abstraction and tailings storage facilities (TSF).
Prior to joining AGE, Kanglin worked in the coal industry for 7 years in China after completion of M.Eng and B.Eng degrees from China University of Geosciences. He gained significant experience in groundwater control and inflow rate prediction for underground mine sites in Hebei, Anhui, Hunan and Hubei provinces. Notably, he was the lead modeler using his own finite element modeling code in a large scale dewatering prediction at the Zhu-xian-zhuang Coal Mine, Anhui. This project eventually won the National Science and Technology Advance Award in 1995. Since completion of his PhD at Macquarie University in 1998, he has research experience with CSIRO and UC Berkeley and recently consulting experience at Worley Parsons and URS. He has numerous publications in professional journals in Australia and overseas.
