AGE has undertaken investigations for local authorities across Queensland. Some examples include:

Eumundi-Noosaville Rd Landfill, Qld

A hydrogeological assessment was undertaken Noosa Councils main Landfill site to provide data for construction of a new landfill cell. The investigation included installation of monitoring bores, hydraulic testing, water quality assessment and formulation of a conceptual groundwater model. Recommendations for design of an underdrainage system were provided.  

Cooloola Closed Landfills, Qld

An investigation of two closed landfill sites at Traveston and Amamoor was undertaken for the Landfill Remediation Assessment Program (LRAP). The investigation included installation of monitoring bores, test pitting of the capping, collection of leachate samples and sampling landfill gas. Recommendations for re-profiling the landfills and cost estimates were provided.

Esk Landfill, Qld 

A hydrogeological and geotechnical investigation was undertaken of the 63ha Esk landfill site in order to conform with environmental licensing requirements and to develop strategies for future landfill development. Included installation of monitoring bores, a strategy for future waste disposal and a conceptual landfill design with an airspace volume of 800,000m³.
